Welcome to the UHS Blog!

from the director ted talk november 2018

Hello Everyone and welcome to the UHS blog! This is where we will share resources, ideas and musings that inform and reflect our school’s philosophy and methodologies. We hope you find it informative, interesting and inspiring. Check back often for new posts!

Our first offering is a TED talk by Mitchel Resnick, a MIT professor and lead creator of Scratch, a visual programming language designed for children. With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. Professor Resnick recently published a book called, Lifelong Kindergarten: Cultivating Creativity through Projects, Passion, Peers and Play which is the basis for his TED talk. Enjoy!
