Weekly Notes 11/14/2019

Dear Parents,

Winter came in with a blast this week. Thank you for your understanding and quick responses on Monday with the early dismissal. We can’t remember a year with a snow day as early as this one. The woods and play areas around school are transformed by the snow and your children are having a wonderful time exploring and playing out there!

This weekend, the Theater Play Shop (TPS) will be presenting, The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever. Showtime is 7:00PM on Saturday in the Karen Joy Theater. Tickets are $10 at the door. Everyone is welcome. Please join us for this sweet, funny and endearing production led by director, Karen Moore and starring the students from Lori’s and Dom’s groups. Afterglow party in the big room following the show!

Nourish Upland Hills Grab & Go

Register with Terry and don’t forget to include the two items (2 trees, 2 pumpkins, or 1 of each).

Parent Teacher Conference – Monday & Tuesday, November 25 & 26

Conferences are held three times a year.  During these times, the staff meets with parents to discuss the evolving growth of the student and to co-create a vision for the next trimester.  The perspective of acknowledging and utilizing a child’s strengths, talents, and intelligences is primary to the discussion. We schedule an hour for each conference to allow for the depth of conversation and mutual understanding that is essential to our partnership with families.

Contact Terry 248-693-2878 to schedule a time to meet with your child(ren) Morning Meeting teacher.

Holiday Book Fair – Monday & Tuesday, November 25 & 26 During Conferences

Books make great gifts!  Karen and her team are curating a wonderful selection of new children’s books that will be for sale in the big room during conferences. Proceeds from the book fair go toward the purchase of new books for the library. Students browse the fair and create a wishlist which will be available to you as a guide while you shop.

Auction “SAVE THE DATE”

Join us Saturday, March 21, 2020 for the most important fundraising night of the year. Look for more information to come soon for ticket purchases and how you can participate.
